originact family theatre is a one-of-a-kind Washington, D.C.-based performing arts organization that helps make theatre come alive for kids 8 & up!  originact gives young people the chance to strengthen acting, singing and dancing skills, while working on an original play -
all within a nurturing and positive environment!

Each 10-week workshop and Summer Camp program culminates in performances which are advertised to the public, giving the aspiring actors a professional, exciting and empowering opportunity, while providing wholesome, intelligent, and original entertainment for families!

Created by playwright, composer, director and performer Joshua Rich (www.joshuarich.com), originact family theatre is the result of Joshua’s extensive experience working with children of all ages through a variety of endeavors.

Joshua’s unique gift for reaching and inspiring young people has been evident in the greater Washington Metropolitan area for many years, beginning with composing music for shows at Adventure Theatre, then moving on to help create Imagination Stage and, finally, establish his own after-school theatre arts program, all while becoming a county-approved school performer, artist-in-residence at numerous elementary schools, music director for various children’s choirs, and much more!
